IES Vela Zanetti is a public secondary school located in Aranda de Duero, a historic town in the heart of the Spanish Ribera del Duero region. The school welcomes students between 12 and 18 years old and is named after the renowned local painter José Vela Zanetti, whose murals can be admired both at the United Nations headquarters in New York and in the school itself.

With a solid academic tradition, a multicultural environment, and deep cultural roots, the school offers its students an enriching educational experience in a unique setting.

IES Vela Zanetti offers two main educational stages: Compulsory Secondary Education (ESO) for students aged 12 to 16, and Baccalaureate for young people aged 16 to 18. The Baccalaureate program includes three specialized pathways: Visual Arts, Image and Design; Humanities and Social Sciences; and Science and Technology.

The school is located in Aranda de Duero, a town known for its wine culture, its medieval underground cellars, and its gastronomy. Aranda is the capital of the Ribera del Duero wine region and is famous for its roast lamb and its traditional Torta de Aranda. The local economy combines agriculture with strong industrial activity, in which multinational companies such as Michelin, Pascual, and GlaxoSmithKline stand out.

 The educational community is made up of 585 students, 80 teachers, and additional support staff, creating a dynamic and welcoming learning environment.

IES Vela Zanetti combines academic rigor, cultural heritage, and a friendly atmosphere, making it a unique educational center within the region of Castilla y León.
